Another Tory Council Cuts Tax

Well done Kensington & Chelsea Council, who have ditched plans for a 3.2% increase in council tax, in favour of a graduated freeze or reduction in council tax.

It just shows what can be done, but I won’t hold my breath for the LibDems to follow suit.

As an aside, they are also planning to help their retailers with free parking on Saturdays.

If this can be achieved in central London, why not here in Twickenham?

A Tax Too Far

LibDem Richmond Council have now stepped up their war on motorists by announcing a new scheme to charge motorists who use all parking spaces and car parks in the Borough variable parking charges depending on their CO2 emissions.

This is essentially an extension of their ridiculous residents’ parking charge scheme, which follows the same lines.
