Apologies for the slow blogging readers, but I am in the middle of the site revamp - fingers crossed, all will be unveiled next week.
I couldn’t resist, however, writing a short note on a few stories that have caught my eye this week.

Firstly, many congratulations to Edward Timpson on his outstanding result last night - a 17.6% swing and 7,800 majority on nearly a 60% turnout.Â
I have just heard David Cameron speak on the BBC and once again he was pitch perfect. He said that one seat in one by election was a great result, but it is not a general election and now is not the time for triumphalism or cockiness. There is much hard work to be done by all candidates and all MPs to fight a positive message on the doorstep, outlining our policies and showing why we are the party of aspiration and not of top-down, centralised, “state knows best” approach of Gordon Brown.
The negative, personalised campaigns that the LibDems and Labour are fighting across the country are turning off voters and backfiring with people on the doorstep. Well done Edward on rising above the melee, showing who the real nasty parties are and for being modest and gracious in victory.
Alistair Darling yesterday was forced to make a “mini-budget” in order to get his party out of the hole created by his predecessor and now boss, Gordon Brown. I am, of course, talking about the 10p tax fiasco.
Following a gentle e-mail reminder yesterday from a constituent and reader, I am now putting up my Mayoral GLA predictions, which were kept in a locked drawer from 7th April 2008.
The envelope has been sliced open and the results are below (I can scan the sheet in if anyone’s desperate)…
I disappear for a week and all hell seems to break loose. So much so, in fact, that I was wondering what my first post back should be about…
